Actor Pallavi Joshi is in news for her character Radhika Menon in Vivek Agnihotri's film The Kashmir Files,  which is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the state of Kashmir in 1990. The film featuring Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar in lead is a subject of extreme scrutiny currently, with one faction calling it an exact representation of the events, wherein the other side questioning the extreme politicisation of events to peddle hate.

In the film, Joshi plays the role of Radhika Menon, a professor at ANU, reportedly based on the Jawaharlal Nehru University, who motivates her students to raise the slogans for 'Azad Kashmir.' Joshi was also a part of Agnihotri's previous directorial venture The Tashkent Files in 2020. What many might know is that she is married to the filmmaker.

Long before we saw her in films that courted controversy, Joshi was a well-known face on Indian television, featuring in many iconic shows, both as an actor and presenter. As an anchor, she has hosted shows like Antakshari and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi L'il Champs.

Aarohan 

Pallavi Joshi TV shows Pallavi Joshi and Shefali Shah in Aarohan.

Aired on DD National from 1996 to 1997, the show was written and produced by Joshi. She also played the protagonist, Nikita Sachdev. Aarohan followed women cadets joining the Indian Navy at that time women were not allowed to join the combat forces. The 13-episode show followed the lives of these women in the Naval Academy and ends with them handling a war-like situation. The show also features Shefali Shah and Anju Mahendru, amongst others.

Alpaviram

Telecasted in 1998, the show was produced by Shobhana Desai and directed by Vipul Shah. It featured Joshi and Amir Bashir in the lead roles. The show revolved around the life of a 21-year-old girl named Amrita who lives with her grandparents and is about to get married to her boyfriend. However, she slips into a coma, following which her family comes to know that she is pregnant. After gaining consciousness, Amrita realises that she was raped by someone at the hospital. The series follows Amrita's struggle to get justice and deal with the social stigma around sexual crimes.

Grahan 

This Marathi horror-thriller also features Yogesh Deshpande and Varsha Ghatpande in key roles, aside from on Pallavi Joshi. It is about a woman named Rama who is happily married and lives with a husband and two children. Until one day, when she steps out and while crossing the road nearly escapes death at hands of a speeding truck. But when she returns home, her life is upside down as her house and her family both seemed to have vanished into thin air.

Meri Awaz Hi Pehchaan Hai

The show is about two sisters named Kalyani and Ketki, both of whom are excellent singers and come from the Gaikwad family. They have grown up together learning music under one roof, but when they decided to pursue their careers in Mumbai, they grow apart. Featuring Amrita Rao, Jannat Zubair Rahmani, Deepti Naval and Joshi, the show is said to be loosely based on the lives of late singer Lata Mangeshkar and her sister Asha Bhosle. It has a total of 95 episodes and was released in 2016.

Justujoo 

This weekly show that aired back in 2002 was reportedly taken off the air because it went into loss and the producers could only manage to cover the office expenses. In 2013, it was re-telecasted on the 9X channel. The show was about a lawyer named Lalit Sharma, played by Harsh Chhaya and his wife Leela, played by Joshi, and her sister Neerja, played by Arpita Pandey. It is about Lalit getting attracted to his sister-in-law who is more career-oriented and marrying her while Leela raises Neerja's daughter from her first marriage along with hers.
