The Handmaids Tale Season 5 Trailer Released
The official teaser synopsis says, “June faces consequences for killing Commander Waterford while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. The widowed Serena attempts to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence creeps into Canada. Commander Lawrence works with Nick and Aunt Lydia as he tries to reform Gilead and rise in power. June, Luke and Moira fight Gilead from a distance as they continue their mission to save and reunite with Hannah.”
June says in the"> trailer that she is still enjoying the high of Fred's murder: "He was a monster. The founding father of Gilead. He took away our country. He had to pay for what he did. I killed him, and I loved it so much."
Serena, who we see throughout the trailer anxious to find her husband's murderer as she weaponizes her grief to gradually impose the totalitarian dictatorship in Canada, is referred to as she continues, "I want her to know that it was me."
June looks to be returning to Gilead through the same woods she had fled through at the end of the trailer when she also gives an emotional speech about the future. She continues, "I pray for our children." "May they live a life without all of this hate. Dear God, may they do better than we did."
It appears that season five will be an exciting ride. "I will say that the season itself is possibly one of the wilder rides that we've had," Moss told as per reports. "Some seasons a lot happens, some seasons not as much happens. This season, I almost can't keep up. And it's not lip service. I truly mean I almost can't keep up with the amount of activity that's happening."
