The First Lady is an American series that started streaming on the Showtime OTT platform on April 17, 2022. The show narrates the life events and stories of the three First Ladies of the United States, Michelle Obama, Betty Ford and Eleanor Roosevelt. The release of episode 3 of the show will mark an interesting chapter in the series.
The show stars Viola Davis as Michelle Obama, Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford, Gillian Anderson as Eleanor Roosevelt, O.T. Fagbenle as Barack Obama, Kiefer Sutherland as Franklin D Roosevelt and Aaron Eckhart as Gerald Ford. The show is created by Aaron Cooley and all the episodes are directed by Susanne Bier.
The new episode will feature the young First Ladies meeting new romantic interest or possibly their future husband.
The First Lady Episode 3 Release Date
The first two episodes of the series titled That White House and Voices Carry were released on April 17 and April 24 respectively. The first two episodes introduced us to the main characters of the series. Michelle, Betty and Eleanor are shown as the First Ladies of the US in different timelines and their lifestyle as the President's wives.
The story occasionally dwells on the past. showing flashbacks to give a glimpse of their early life. The story then moves on to their individual lives and their challenges despite being the First Lady.
The third episode, titled Please Allow Me, will feature the young versions of the three First Ladies and a glimpse of how they met their present spouses.
The synopsis of the episode on Showtime reads, "Young Eleanor reluctantly cuts short her progressive education in London to make her dreaded societal debut as a member of New York’s prestigious Roosevelt family, which includes her ambitious cousin, Franklin. In Michigan, Young Betty, trapped in an abusive marriage, finds herself pursued by hotshot lawyer Jerry. As she rises the ranks at a Chicago law firm, Young Michelle gets to know an idealistic and politically inclined summer intern named Barack."
The third episode will release on May 1, 2022, a week after the second episode was released. All the upcoming episodes will update weekly as per the schedule released by Showtime.
