The minute-long video hints at the sudden disappearance of Rosie from Gurugram, who was an employee at a BPO company. In the teaser, we do not see any characters from the film, but instead see these lines, “If you love someone, set them free. The universe will conspire to bring them back from the dead.” The film is said to be based on true events that took place in Gurugram.

Rosie: The Saffron Chapter also features Arbaaz Khan and Mallika Sherawat. The film has been produced by actor Vivek Oberoi's company Oberoi Mega Entertainment and Prerna V Arora. The film went on floors in December 2020 in Pune.

Speaking about her debut, Palak Tiwari said, "I consider myself extremely fortunate to be debuting with a story like this. A story that has such nuance to it, a story that's so intricate, so riveting. To be considered fitting enough to be representing Rosie and her story is truly an honour."

Last year, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh had shared the first poster on Twitter and wrote, “ANNOUNCEMENT... #PalakTiwari - daughter of #ShwetaTiwari - to enact the title role in #Rosie... Directed by Vishal Mishra... Starts later this year... Presented by Mandiraa Entertainment and #VivekOberoi’s Oberoi Mega Entertainment in association with Prerna V Arora.”

Earlier, talking about her daughter’s interests in joining the film industry, Shweta had told Hindustan Times in an interview in December, “She’s waiting for a right project to come. She also wants to finish her studies first. She doesn’t want to hop into her career without proper education. She wants to take a degree and then start working. What she keeps saying is ‘When people come to interview me, I want to sound like Amit (Amitabh Bachchan) ji and Shah Rukh Khan, larger than life. I want to be well-read, I want to sound educated.’”
