Teaser Out: Jehanabad - Of Love And War 

Ever since the teaser of the upcoming Indian thriller SonyLiv series Jehanabad- Of Love and War was out in December, netizens have been way excited to watch the series inspired by real life incidents.

The show stars Rajat Kapoor, Ritwik Bhowmik, Parambrata Chatterjee and Harshita Gaur in the lead. The series has its backdrop in the year 2005 and follows the events of a small town in Bihar called Jehanabad, where innocent love and anarchy of the land are heading towards a collision.

The teaser seems to be unique to other trailers as it is a combination of just two scenes from an entire series. The opening scene of the teaser shows two men on a bike discussing about castes. While one rider seems to be confused about a person’s surname whether it is a Punjabi surname or a Rajput surname, the other rider tries to transgress from the topic and negated the conversation. He claims that even that person has been rooted in the same ground as we are, thereby ruling out the conversation on caste. Soon, they gear up to cover their faces.

Once they reach a particular spot, a police station which it seems to be, they hurl an explosive which is followed by the entry of a  head inspector and a few police constables with guns overpowering the scene. The climax of the teaser uncovers at a point when the head inspector unzips a bag that has an unknown decapitated head. Towards the end, a prisoner is shown being given a cake of soap that has the following message engraved on it ‘The traitor is finished’ (gaddar khatam).

The teaser is a good start at unveiling the genre of the series. The subtitle suggests that the web series is centred around exploring the theme of love and war. Netizens are already excited to watch this thriller-drama web series which will stream soon.

Directed by Sudhir Mishra, the series is expected to be on the SonyLiv platform on 3rd February this year.
