Taylor Swift Grammy Records: With Folklore winning the Grammy Awards for album of the year Taylor Swift became the first woman to win the award thrice. Folklore is her eighth album.
Swift has earlier won it Fearless and 1989. The other musicians who have got this award thrice are Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder. Swift's album folklore was shot in quarantine and she did not even meet some of her collaborators. While receiving the award she addressed Justin Vernon and said, “I’m so excited to meet you someday.” Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff, were present at the award function and they had performed a medley.

Dua Lipa, Post Malone, Jhene Aiko, Black Pumas, Coldplay, Jacob Collier were some of the other contenders for this award.

Folklore was the first album in 2020 to sell a million copies in the United States. Additionally, it has also reclaimed the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart for an eighth non-consecutive week. The album has a gold and platinum status.
Recorded during the quarantine, Taylor Swift’s Folklore’s 16 tracks epitomise her trademark country-pop style. Since its release on July 24, 2020, the album has received lots of love from fans and broken many records. It debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The album also broke the Guinness World Record for the highest one-day streams of an album on Spotify (female) after achieving over 80.6 million streams in a single day. As per EW, Folklore recently became the best-selling album of 2020 after retaining the top position on the Billboard 200 chart for six consecutive weeks.
“Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening. But there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen,” she wrote on her social media before the release.
