Taapsee Pannu Income Tax raid case: Actor Taapsee Pannu took to social media for the first time after the news about an income tax raid being conducted on her properties emerged on Wednesday. On March 3, IT department had carried out multiple raids on properties related to Pannu, director Anurag Kashyap and talent agency and producer Madhu Mantena.
Today Pannu opened up about the raid for the first time in a Twitter thread. "3 days of intense search of 3 things primarily 1. The keys of the “alleged” bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner," read her first tweet.
In her second tweet, she addressed the reports regarding the recovery of unexplainable cash receipts worth ₹ 5 crores. "The “alleged” receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before," she wrote.
On March 5, India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman made a statement regarding the raids that were conducted across Mumbai and Pune over 28 locations, saying, "The same names were raided in 2013, wasn’t an issue then, It’s an issue now." Addressing Sitharaman's statement, Pannu further tweeted, "My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister. P.S- “not so sasti” anymore"
