In 2010's love musical Jhummandi Naadam, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, Pannu made her film debut. She took on the character of the millionaire's daughter from the United States who travels to India to study traditional Telugu music. Prior to the movie's release, Pannu had three further Telugu offers. Her first Tamil-language movie was her follow-up, Aadukalam (2011). She portrayed a young Anglo-Indian woman who fell in love with Dhanush's portrayal of a rural Indian man. The focus of the movie, which is set in Madurai, is cockfights. At the 58th National Film Awards, it received high praise from critics and went on to win six National Film Awards.
Pannu appeared briefly in Mr Perfect (2011). She appeared in it with Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal. She co-starred with Ravi Teja and Kajal Aggarwal in the high-profile movie Veera (2011), which received mixed reviews. For Shabaash Mithu, Taapsee Pannu took on the role of renowned cricketer Mithali Raj. In the Srijit Mukherji-directed movie, she played Mithali, who has now retired from all forms of international cricket. Both fans and critics praised the actor highly. On July 15, Shabaash Mithu was made available in theatres. Taapsee Pannu will play the protagonist in the Anurag Kashyap movie, which will be released on August 19. This time-travelling drama will play at the London Indian Film Festival 2022 before going on general release (LIFF 2022). Taapsee Pannu plays a mother who communicates with a youngster who was 'dead' 26 years ago in this disturbing film. In Thappad, Taapsee Pannu and filmmaker Anubhav Sinha return with yet another harrowing tale after capturing the struggle of a Muslim family attempting to restore their honour in Mulk. Taapsee portrays an educated, upper-middle-class woman who is compelled to evaluate her marriage after receiving a smack from her husband, played by Pavail Gulati. The people around Taapsee's character think it is silly to beg her to forgive her spouse, but she fights back.

Pannu was ranked 67th on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list for 2018 with an estimated annual income of 15.48 crore (US$1.9 million). She was highlighted a second time in 2019 and placed 68th. She was listed as one of the magazine's 30 Under 30 in 2017. She was named No. 23 in 2020 and No. 36 in 2019 on The Times' list of the most desirable women.
