Pakistani actor Feroze Khan, who officially filed for divorce from his wife, Syeda Aliza Sultan in September, is currently fighting a legal battle. The two are undergoing a custody battle for their two children named Mohammed Sultan Khan and Fatima Khan.
However, the court case took a new turn after Aliza accused Khan of domestic violence and submitted supporting evidence to back her claim. She had made several allegations against the actor of domestic violence, infidelity, and blackmail.
Who Is Syeda Aliza Sultan?
Feroze and Aliza tied the knot in 2018 and have two children. On September 21, Aliza took to Instagram to announce that she was parting ways with him and opened up about “physical and psychological violence” that was meted out at her during their marriage of four years.
In a long post, Aliza wrote, “Our marriage of four years was utter chaos. In addition to continuous physical and psychological violence during this period, I had to endure infidelity, blackmail, and degradation at my husband’s hands.”
Sultan has submitted evidence of abuse in the form of medico-legal and emergency room reports alleging that she was subjected to torture between 2020 and 2022.
According to Geo TV, Aliza allegedly suffered torture on July 7, 2020, leaving her with bruises all over her arm, as per the evidence she provided to the District and Sessions Courts Karachi East. Geo TV further reports that Aliza’s family also took her to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a medico-legal examination which was also provided to the court.
According to the medical report, the victim’s arms and waist had bruises from being subjected to torture.
Several celebrities including Osman Khalid Butt, Mushk Kaleem and Mansha Pasha among others came out in Syeda Aliza Sultan's support.
Pakistani actor Saboor Aly wrote, “Walking out of toxic and abusive relationship is a very brave step. We should all teach our daughters to have zero tolerance for any kind of physical and mental abuse and never succumb to the societal pressure of staying in abusive and toxic marriages. As they say divorced daughters and sisters are better than dead ones! All my prayers are for Aliza and everyone who were and are the victim of domestic abuse. Don’t stay quiet. Speak up and walk out.”
Others who condemned Feroze Khan’s alleged actions are actor Junaid Khan, actor Humaira Ali, Feroze Khan’s on-screen sibling from the drama Khuda Aur Muhabbat Hira Soomro, ‘Pasoori’ singer Shae Gill, Feroze Khan’s ongoing drama series ‘Habs’ director Musaddiq Malek, and actor Usman Mukhtar.
After mass condemnation, Feroze Khan issued a statement denying all allegations levelled against him. He called the accusations "baseless, malicious and untruthful."
He added, “These allegations have no basis in truth or reality. I fully intend to institute legal proceedings against the perpetrators of these actions and I have instructed my legal team accordingly.”
He concluded by saying, “I would categorically like to state that I have always followed the law in its true letter and spirit and have never knowingly hurt another human being. I very strongly believe in all human rights of every human inhabiting planet earth.”
The court has scheduled the case’s next hearing for November 1, 2022, as per Geo TV.
