Swarna Ghar's Viral Video Proves That Hindi TV Dramas Have Nothing To Do With Logic

Indian television shows are no stranger to utterly bizarre plotlines and extremely poorly crafted scenes. The wonder is how they have remained persistent with crazy content despite it becoming the most viral memes or jokes. Another day, another show and yet another over-the-top scene went viral on the internet. This one is from the show titled Swarna Ghar.

The video shared by a Twitter user called SGR has people laughing hard at the utter laziness of the screenplay. In a scene from the Hindi-language show, actor Sangita Ghosh's character is caught in a weird situation. Her dupatta goes flying into a pedestal fan. The fan keeps sucking the fabric in while Ghosh's character chokes.

The scene is taking place in front of a crowd and presumably characters who are playing the role of doctors. Instead of her survival mode kicking in, she simply holds her neck while she chokes loudly. The others around are as good as props, as they take minutes to react to an exaggerated scene.

Swarna Ghar Viral Video

After a few seconds the male lead, played by Ajay Chaudhary realises that the woman is choking and he runs back to her. Moments after he has panicked and cried a little, someone from the crowd screams, "Switch off the fan." At this point, another woman goes running and tries to pull the plug, apparently, the extension cord had no switch on it.

Unable to do so, she panics too. At this point, the main male lead needs to show his "maardangi (masculinity)" and "save his girl" by chewing off the dupatta and tearing it. Only one part of the dupatta had been sucked by the fan, the other was still hanging from her neck, removing it would have stopped the plot from proceeding to her fainting.

While people are shocked and suddenly gossipy, two women in the crowd begin pointing out that it is drama and that the couple is trying to benefit by faking a situation like this. The entire scene is headache-inducing loud gasps and exists in the illogical realm.

But expecting anything other than that from an Indian television show would be a sin. Over the years, the shows have gone from good content to lazy content and then just plain bizarre. Whether it be gopi bahu washing a laptop or a character dying from a simple dupatta pull, one wants to understand the source of such content and the thought that goes behind it.

Netizens have been creative with their comments on the scene. Some tried to insert logical arguments into the scene while others persuaded them to stop going by logic because the scene clearly was not. Watch the video here.

The show is about Swarna Bedi and Kanwaljeet, who have dedicated themselves to their new family. In the process to do so, they face challenges and struggle to provide the best of things for their children. The other cast includes Ronit Roy and Varun Badola, amongst others.
