Sunny Leone's upcoming action-thriller web series Anamika released its trailer on Tuesday. Leone plays a spy in the series, which is directed by Vikram Bhatt and also stars Samir Soni, Sonnalli Seygall, Rahul Dev, Shehzad Shaikh, and Ayaz Khan. It will be available on MX Player on March 10.
The trailer showed Leone fighting villains and performing action sequences. Some fans pointed out that some scenes from the series resemble the sequences seen in Quentin Tarantino's direction Kill Bill which has actor Uma Thurman playing the lead role.
Sunny Leone as Anamika as the woman who is living a quiet life and plans to get married. Soon a government official (Rahul Dev) appears on screen and reveals that Anamika was "one of the best agents who went wrong." He suggests that she should be removed as she knows too much about powerful people. The ">trailer then switches pace and Anamika is seen defending herself from her attackers.
Similarities between Sunny Leone's Anamika and Uma Thurman’s Kill Bill?
Action: Like Kill Bill, the protagonist of Anamika is also seen doing some intense action scenes. As per reports, Sunny Leone was trained in Gun-fu which is a combination of gun and kung-fu. As the name suggests, this form of retaliation is about hand-to-hand combat and gunfight. Uma Thurman had trained herself in swordsmanship and martial arts for several months for her role in Kill Bill.
In both the series and the famous American film, the protagonist is shown as a deadly assassin. Both the protagonists attack people to take revenge. Uma Thurman was the bride who travelled to Japan to fight her rivals. Both the protagonists were attacked on their wedding day.

There is no official statement whether the Sunny Leone starrer is a remake of Kill Bill or is inspired by it. It is also to be noted that after the success of Kill Bill, many films and web series have been made on similar theme with a female assassin at the centre of the plot.
Anamika is being dubbed in several languages, including Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Starting March 10, 2022, all episodes are available to watch on MX Player.
