Is A New Suits Show Coming?

Unlike a conventional reboot, Suits: L.A. won't revisit the familiar characters and storylines of the original series. Instead, it carves its own path, introducing a brand-new cast navigating the cutthroat world of Los Angeles entertainment law.

Following the remarkable streaming chart success of the OG show released on Netflix last year, a discussion between the studio and show's writer Aaron Korsh was initiated in October, where Korsh along with writing has reportedly taken the role of executive producer along with executive producers of the OG show Gene Klein, Doug Liman, and  Dave Bartis.

The pilot will be directed and co-executive produced by Victoria Mahoney, known for Grey's Anatomy, and Seven Seconds. The pilot is now announced to begin filming in Vancouver this March gearing up for the production and might potentially join the lineup of shows in the 2024-25 season.

Meet Ted Black, Your New Legal Eagle

At the centre of the drama stands Ted Black, a former New York federal prosecutor who relocates to LA to lead his own private firm. Expect him to clash with ambitious associates, navigate complex cases, and grapple with ethical dilemmas, all while embracing a lifestyle he once disdained.

Meghan Markle Won't Appear In The Spin-Off: Reports

After the news of the spin-off made headlines, fans were excited to receive news of the cast and wondered if Harvey Specter would make a cameo. However, reports claimed that Meghan Markle made it clear she did not want to be involved as an actor."

Markle played paralegal Rachel Zane in the original for seven years between 2011 and 2017 after she began dating Prince Harry.

Fans of Rachel Zane were hoping to see Markle back in the show. Markle also recently reacted to the news of the recently announced spin-off as she told Variety: "Isn't that wild?" and recounted the fun times she had shooting the Suits and fun with the cast and crew.

While the focus remains firmly on Ted Black and his LA adventures, die-hard Suits fans can't help but wonder if there's a chance for appearances from the original cast. While details are scarce, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility. The original stars recently reunited at the Golden Globes, fueling speculation about potential cameos.

While the cast for the spin-off has yet not been announced Patrick J Adams has expressed openness to a potential comeback to the show.

The success of Suits on Netflix, where it became the most-streamed show of 2023, fueled interest in revisiting the franchise. Suits: LA aims to capture the essence of the original while offering a fresh perspective and diverse characters. Whether it lives up to its predecessor's legacy remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure: the legal drama is back, and it's ready to make its mark.
