Stacey Farber, Virgin River's Tara, Recalls "Anxiety" Filming Difficult Scenes

Popular series Virgin River is reported to be renewed for another two seasons, after leaving fans on a cliffhanger at the end of the third season. The romantic plotline of Jack and Mel, the show's leads played by Martin Henderson and Alexandra Breckenridge, is the centrepoint of the show without ever becoming too dominant over the story. And so, fans find themselves invested in every character whose lives we are let into.

One such person in the storybook town of Virgin River, where the season of autumn never ceases, is Tara. Played by actor Stacey Farber, she is the eldest daughter of Lilly, who dies of &t=1s">cancer. In the event of her mother's death, Tara is left to shoulder not just an emotional upheaval but also responsibilities at the farm.

Recently appearing on the Hallmarkies Podcast, Farber disclosed the anxieties she faced with the "intense" plot points in the show.

"I was really nervous about it," she said, adding the later episodes of the third season were especially hard to go through. "I read the scripts, and I remember my mom was in town visiting me in Vancouver, and I was super stressed and didn't think I'd be able to pull it off."

She called it the "most intense" thing she has had to perform.

Based on novels by Robyn Carr, Virgin River has developed its own committed fanbase without making too much noise. Much like its warm-hued, understated settings, the show has settled into a quiet, cosy corner of Netflix. Who is Stacey Farber? 

34-year-old Farber is a Canadian actor best known for her television appearances that span a variety of memorable roles. She played Ellie Nash in the teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation and was a key character on the show. Other series she has starred in include Cult, Saving Hope and Superman & Lois to name a few.

It is a bit of trivia that Farber also appeared in a minor role in an episode of Schitt's Creek on the fourth season. Spot her if you can!
