On Sirdevi's birth anniversary, daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor posted a sweet tribute remembering their late mother. August 13 marks the 61st birth anniversary of the veteran actor. Sridevi, who was often addressed as Bollywood's first female superstar, died in Dubai in 2018, where she attended a family wedding.
Boney Kapoor's special message for his 'Jaan'
Grab a tissue. Boney Kapoor's wish for late wife is too heartfelt to be read without feeling tearful. He took to Instagram and shared an over-the-shoulder shot of Sridevi. She adorns a brown saree in the picture and looks like the elegant superstar she was.
"Happy birthday my Jaan," the caption reads. Brother Sanjay Kapoor dropped hearts in the comment section.
Wishes for Mamma
Khushi shares an unseen shot of her and Janhvi posing with mum back in childhood. The picture stirs nostalgia in the audience.

Janhvi Kapoor, on the other hand, shared a symbolic Instagram post with 3 slides. The first slide shows entry stairs into the temple. Janhvi, on various occasions, has said that mum Sridevi shared a deep connection with Lord Balaji and Tirupati. She makes it a point to visit the holy place on her as well as her mum's birthday.
The second slide is little Janhvi taking comfort in Mum's arms once again. The third one shows the actor in a green and yellow saree which belonged to her mother. She wraps herself in it today and feels the embrace of her mom yet again. Have you seen something more beautiful than that?

Death of the legendary actor Sridevi
Sridevi tragically passed at the age of 54 in her hotel room in Dubai. She had gone to attend the wedding of relatives Mohit Marwah and Antara Motiwala. She died by accidental drowning in her hotel room bathtub.
"It was not a natural death, it was accidental," says actor Boney Kapoor while giving an interview to The Indian Express.
"They discovered no foul play. I went through all the interrogation, including the lie detector. The report which came early clearly stated that it was accidental death by drowning," he added.
When Janhvi and Khushi found out about mother's death
Sisters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor spoke about their mother's death in an appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 8. Janhvi recalls, "I remember when I got the call I was in my room, and I could hear wailing from Khushi's room." The brave girl takes a moment to wipe her tears and then adds, "I went up to her room, she looked at me and just stopped crying and I haven't seen her cry about it since then."
Losing a mother is so tragic that nothing else in the world can be compared to it. Love how Janhvi and Khushi put on a brave face everyday and continue to grow in their careers.
