Anupamaa: Smriti Irani To Make A Cameo In Rupali Ganguly Show?

Actor and politician Smriti Irani is reportedly making her much-anticipated return to television with Anupamaa, which stars Rupali Ganguly in the lead role. There were also rumours that actor Ronit Roy is also being considered for a significant role in the show. Interestingly, both Irani and Roy are iconic figures in the television industry, known for their roles in the hugely popular series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The show, which aired from 2000 to 2008, shot them to fame, with Irani playing Tulsi and Roy portraying Mihir Virani.

Smriti Irani To Make Television Comeback With Rupali Ganguly’s Anupamaa: Report

As per reports from Times Now, Irani is expected to appear in a cameo role in the post-leap episodes. If confirmed, Irani's appearance will be brief, but her presence alongside Rupali Ganguly would certainly bring excitement to viewers. This potential comeback would mark Irani’s return to the small screen after a 15-year hiatus.

However, as of now, no official confirmation has been made by Irani or the makers of Anupamaa regarding her role in the show. Meanwhile, Ronit Roy has denied reports suggesting he would be joining Anupamaa. In an interview with Zoom, Roy clarified, "No, the news is not true." 

What’s New in Anupamaa After the Leap? Fresh Characters and Dramatic Shifts

Anupamaa recently took a major leap in its storyline, jumping 15 years into the future. With several lead actors having exited the show, the new generation of characters has been introduced. Moreover, several significant changes have transformed the show’s narrative. First being Kavya's character, which has been written out, making room for new dynamics as Mahi begins to see Anupamaa as a mother figure. 

Kinjal, in a surprising move, has reunited with Toshu for the sake of their daughter, Pari, rekindling old tensions in their relationship. The character of Pakhi has been recast, which brings a fresh perspective to her role within the family drama. Additionally, younger characters like Ishani, Pari, Mahi, and Ansh have grown up, introducing new storylines centred around their teenage lives.

 Anupamaa has also reclaimed Shah Niwas, symbolising her resilience and bringing her back into the core family unit. Her return to live with the Shah family sets the stage for new conflicts and emotional challenges, especially with Kinjal, who, much like Pakhi and Toshu, has become more critical of Anupamaa. Meanwhile, Bapuji’s hearing loss and other signs of ageing among characters, such as Baa and Anupamaa wearing glasses, signal the natural passage of time. 

The fate of Anuj remains a mystery, as he and Anupamaa have not crossed paths since the leap. Fans are eagerly awaiting updates about this potential reunion of the beloved couple.
