Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur's 'Sita Ramam' Gets Release Date; Read

The Telugu flick Sita Ramam is one of the most anticipated films in Tollywood. The period drama starring Malayalam Cinema Industry's heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur has finally received a release date! The film's lead Salmaan took to his social media to announce the same.

"An epic story. A film that felt like we stepped into a dream. Time travelling to a glorious era rich in colours, sights and sounds. This is a love letter from the pages of history delivering soon to theatres near you…#SitaRamam," the actor wrote in his post.

The Hanu Raghavapudi directorial is a romantic drama which is set against the backdrop of war and explores the love story between a soldier played by Salmaan and his love interest Mrunal Thakur. Mandanna will also be playing a very significant role as Afreen in the film. The film marks the second Telugu film 2018 biopic Mahanati. It also marks Mrunal's debut in the Telugu Film Industry.

A video which was unveiled in April this year hinted that Rashmika will be introduced as a character with shades of Lord Hanuman, a Hindu mythological figure, who brings together the protagonists Rama and Sita. Reportedly, the story is inspired by the Hindu epic Ramayana.

Produced by Ashwini Dutt, the film also features Sumanth, Gautham Menon, Prakash Raj, Tharun Bhascker, Bhoomika Chawla, Sachin Khedekar, Murali Sharma and others in supporting roles. The film will be releasing Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

The first single of the film released recently, the romantic melody Oh Sita Hey Rama, struck a chord with the audience. The music director of the film is Vishal Chandrashekhar while the cinematography was handled by PS Vinod.

Sita Ramam Release Date

The film will be released in theatres on August 5 this year announced the makers. The makers of the film took to Twitter and posted, “A love story from the pages of history delivering soon to theatres near you… #SitaRamam Worldwide Release On Aug 5th, 2022.”

Dulquer Salmaan on the work front has films like Chup, King of Kotha and Othiram Kadakam in the pipeline; meanwhile, Rashmika is busy with her films Mission Majnu with Siddharth Malhotra, Thalapthy 66 and Pushpa: The Rule and Animal.
