The gritty realistic story of the film the harsh realities of the young migrants who aspire to find a better life in America.
The trailer of the 2019 release was unveiled by Amazon Prime Video today, ahead of the digital premiere.

Life of Pi star Suraj Sharma is attached to the film The Illegal as the protagonist playing the role of a young man, Hassan, working as a undocumented worker in the USA.
The Illegal has been screened at various film festivals and has won accolades including the Special Award for Discovering India at the Mumbai International Film Festival. The film also won the Best Feature Critics Choice at the Vancouver South Asian Film Festival.
The film was shortlisted for nominations for the Best Picture category at the Academy Awards 2019.
The 2019 release is written and directed by Danish Renzu, who has previously helmed films titled Half Widow, In Search of America, and Inshallah.
The film will start streaming exclusively for the Indian audience from March 23.
