Shraddha Kapoor had been cast as the lead in Vishal Furia's Naagin trilogy and was scheduled to start filming for it after wrapping Luv Ranjan's upcoming movie with Ranbir Kapoor. Recent reports, however, have raised doubts about the movie's future. According to the reports, it seems that the movie has been shelved.
The reports stated that the makers are said to have taken this decision in light of the fact that several big-budget movies have failed to live up to expectations lately. A source told Mid Day, "Naagin is a high-budget film with extensive visual effects. The project's creators want to put it on hold and come back to it later because of the current market dry spell. The movie was supposed to start shooting in May, but the stakeholders decided it would be best to wait. After the release of Shraddha's as-yet-untitled next starring Ranbir Kapoor, the movie may be pursued, if at all."
Shraddha Kapoor Naagin Trilogy Is On Hold?
The project is rumoured to have an impressive budget and to include a lot of visual effects. According to rumours, Kapoor will play 'Naagin' in this trilogy, which is backed by Nikhil Dwivedi. According to the latest report by ETimes, the news of the Naagin Trilogy being shelved was fake news. The portal contacted Nikhil Dwivedi, who said, " It was simply 'Fake News', I would say. It wasn't true at all. The trilogy of 'Naagin' has not been kept at the backburner."

Vishal Furia, the project's director, previously said of the huge project, "It's an interesting space. Although the concept of a naagin has been around for a long time, I'd like to think that it hasn't been well supported. The project has a vision that belongs to Nikhil Dwivedi. He has ideas for a wholly new world for the character that will be distinct from all the earlier instalments. We're taking a different approach than what has already been proposed because it needs heavy VFX."
The actor was last seen in the 2020 film Baaghi 3, where she played the lead alongside Tiger Shroff. The movie, a remake of Vettai, fell short of expectations.
