Vidya Balan first job: The Sherni star Vidya Balan shared the memories of her first job and the first salary she received. She also talked about her journey right from Hum Paanch to Shakuntala Devi.
The Shakuntala Devi fame Vidya Balan revealed that her first paycheck did not come from a film, advertisement or any acting role. Balan said that she worked for a promotional campaign for the first time at the beginning of her career. The campaign was for the state tourism department. She said that she received Rs 500 as her first salary.
In an interview with Zoom, the Sherni star Vidya Balan said, "My first-ever salary was ₹500 for a state tourism campaign. Four of us - my sister, me, and a cousin and a friend I think went along - and each of us got paid 500 bucks." Balan added that the job was to do a simple pose standing next to the tree and smile.
After this campaign, Balan auditioned for the TV show, La Bella which never made it to the screens. Balan's acting career began with the superhit serial of its time, Hum Paanch produced by Ekta Kapoor. Her upcoming film, Sherni, is directed by Amit Masurkar. She will be seen playing the role of a forest officer named Vidya Vincent.
While talking about her character in the interview, Balan said, "She's a person of very few words, smiles rarely but she is a doer. She does what she believes in and she believes in doing it the right way. It's like this saying that you don't need to roar to be a tigress. So my character is a tigress but she does not roar."
Balan has also played the role of the lead protagonist in films before like Kahaani and its sequel. The actor was also widely appreciated for her role in the film Mission Mangal alongside Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu and others.
