Sherlyn Chopra defamation case: Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra, who is caught in controversy over alleged illegal production and distribution of pornographic content, have slapped a hefty defamation case of fifty crore rupees against model Sherlyn Chopra.
Chopra, who spoke extensively in the media in the period that Kundra was in jail between July 19 and September 20 alleging sexual misconduct, had accused the celebrity couple of sexual and mental harassment. In that regard, she reportedly filed a First Information Report (FIR) last week.
The statement from Shetty and Kundra's lawyers following the suit against Chopra, as quoted by Times of India, claims her allegations are "concocted, false, fake, frivolous, baseless, without any evidence" and have an ulterior motive to extract money.
It further claimed that Chopra's attempt to "drag" Shetty's name in the matter was "to create unwanted controversy and gain media attention."

Kundra is named in a high-profile case of porn production being investigated in Mumbai, which involves an app Hotshots used to platform illegal adult content. Updates in the case here. He was granted bail last month on a surety of Rs 50,000. Shetty, who gave her statement in the case, claimed she was unaware of Kundra's alleged business.
Chopra, among the models who also gave their statements in the porn case, said Kundra pursued her to act for Hotshots, offers for which she turned down since they were "sleazy." She further alleged Kundra forced himself on her in 2019 despite her protests.
According to reports, the defamation suit against Chopra also mentions she allegedly reached out to Shetty earlier this year to say her complaint in the porn racket case was fake and that she was willing to withdraw her complaint. There are also allegations of Chopra demanding Rs 48,00,000 from them in October 2021.
