Shefali Shah's Directional Debut Happy Birthday Mummy Ji Releases On Youtube

Shefali Shah Directional Debut: Shefali Shah made her debut as a director with her short film titled Happy Birthday Mummy Ji. The film premiered on Youtube on Friday.

While sharing the first poster of the film, Shah had asked the audience to shower their blessings on her film. She called it a "big leap of faith in a new 'Direction'."

Apart from direction, the film has also been written by Shefali Shah. The production of the film has been seen by Aashin A Shah and Sunshine Pictures Pvt LTD.

While speaking with SheThePeople, Shah talked about her experience as a director and said, "I don’t think there are advantages there are only challenges as a director. It’s new learning. It’s a new beginning and it’s a chance, a gamble you play. You don’t know whether it’s going to work. "

Happy Birthday Mummy Ji is a short film about a woman caught up in the routine of life, duties responsibilities and relationships.

When asked about what makes it difficult for women to let go, Shah replied, "I think it’s conditioning. I think it’s situational. It’s society. A lot of women don’t have much of an option. And then some women who do have an option choose to don the hat of being a mom, a wife or daughter-in-law, a homemaker, and proudly so. I’m one of them. I wanted all of this."

"These are choices I have made. I want to run my house impeccably. I want to run the lives of everyone. I want to make sure that everyone is having the right medicine at the right time. What is being cooked at home, no matter where I am in the world. Or has the washing machine been repaired?"

Her other directional venture Someday made it to the Female Eye Film Festival 2021. Shefali Shah is also going to be seen in Alia Bhatt produced film Darlings. The film is reported to be a story of a mother and her daughter. Darlings is going to be co-produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Shah Rukh Khan's production company. The film will be shot in Mumbai and will be directed by Jasmeet Kaur. Shah is also going to share the screen with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh in the upcoming film Doctor G.
