Sharmila Tagore famous for her films during her time is coming back to screens after 11 long years. She will be seen in a film titled Gulmohar which has been directed by Rahul Chittella.
In the said film, actor Manoj Bajpayee has also been cast along with Amol Palekar, Simran Rishi Bagga and Suraj Sharma. Gulmohar is said to be a family drama. The film is reported to release in August this year and the shoots for the same have wrapped up.
Sharmila Tagore gave her statement on her acting comeback. She said, "After a considerable gap, I am very happy to be in the familiar and well-loved ambience of a film set. I agreed almost immediately to be a part of Team Gulmohar - after the moving narration of this heartwarming and beautifully written story/ script." She called the script of the film "very layered and absorbing family drama. "
Actor Manoj Bajpayee in his statement said that one of the reasons behind him signing the film was Sharmila Tagore. He said, "Sharing screen space with Sharmila ji was such an honor and above all, Rahul always came across as an intelligent talent and a man of integrity! What more could I ask for? I hope that the audience too will love it as much as I love being a part of it."

As per the details shared by the makers, the film is rooted in the multi-generation the Batra family. They are ready to move out of the house they have lived in for the past 34 years. The big move triggers new developments as the family members re-discover the bond they share with each other and the secrets and insecurities they have been hiding all this time.
Sharmila Tagore Acting Comeback:
Tagore was last seen in a film titled Break Ke Baad (2010) in which she played the role of the protagonist Aaliya Khan's mother. Aaliya Khan's role was essayed by Deepika Padukone. The male lead in the film was Imran Khan. The award-winning actor, Tagore is known for many films which released during 1970s. Some of her popular films are Aradhna, Amar Prem, Chupke Chupke, Mausam, Daag among many others.
Tagore comes from a prestigious family of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Her mother, Latika Tagore was the granddaughter of Rabindranath Tagore's brother Dwijendranath. Sharmila Tagore has often acknowledged her privileges and has give credit of her acting success to her famous surname.
