The Last Letter From Your Lover is partly set in the 1960s
The Last Letter From Your Lover is based on Jojo Moyers’ bestselling novel which goes by the same name. The film has been directed by Augustine Frizzell, and Pete Czernin and Graham Broadbent of Blueprint Pictures are producing alongside Simone Urdl and Jennifer Weiss.
The latter duo is from StudioCanal, and has also financed the film fully. Both Shailene Woodley and Felicity Jones are also executive producers of the film, which has been adapted by Nick Payne and Esta Spalding.
As far as the film's background is concerned, The Last Letter From Your Lover will be a dual-narrative love story. The film has been set in the French Riviera and London back in the 1960s, and also the present day. It will tell the story of Ellie (Felicity Jones) who is a young female journalist who ends up uncovering a series of love letters in the archives.
The letters disclose a romantic and intriguing love story of two star-crossed lovers. These lovers named Jennifer Stirling (Shailene Woodley) and Anthony O’Hare (Callum Turner), are from the 1960s. Ellie soon starts developing an obsession with their romance and is determined to discover their exact identities, and find out how exactly their romance ends.
The film will release in Scandinavia on July 30. In France, it will be releasing later this year. It will hit cinemas in London on August 6.
