Shah Rukh Khan's OTT advertisement doing rounds on social media and news headlines is not for an app called SRK+ but a campaign for another online streaming platform. There is not going to be an online streaming platform owned by the Khan.
On March 16, the online streaming platform Disney+Hotstar released a 50 seconds advertisement featuring Khan, Anurag Kashyap and Gopal Dutt. The video begins with a news anchor reporting that Khan has launched his own online platform called SRK+. Post which the camera zooms out to show Kashyap narrating story ideas to Khan for his OTT platform.
But none of the ideas works as Dutt coolly thwarts off these ideas while sipping coffee by simply stating the films with similar plots already streaming on Hotstar. The video closes to end with Khan asking Dutt if there is anything good left and Dutt reminds him that he owns one of the Indian Premier League teams, which is Kolkata Knight Riders. Only to be reminded by Kashyap that the online streaming platform already streams that too.

This advertisement is directed by Vinil Mathew, who is known for films like Hasee Toh Phasee and Haseen Dilruba. He is also the co-founder of Breathless Film, which is an advertising and film production house, along with Swadha Kulkarni.
Khan shared the advertisement on his Instagram feed, with the caption, "Kuch honewala hai bola tha, but ye @disneyplushotstar wale kuch hone hi nahi de rahe (I had said that something is going to happen but @disneyplushotstar people are not letting it happen)."
Actor Ajay Devgn tweeted the video today and said, "Sorry @iamsrk pehle bata dete, Rudra SRK+ pe hi release karta (laughing emoji)." To this Khan replied asking whether he is ready to release season 2 on SRK+.
However, until yesterday everyone had believed that Khan is launching his own OTT platform. He had posted a picture of himself with thumbs up and in the background was his rumoured OTT name written. In the caption, he wrote, "Kuch kuch hone wala hai, OTT ki duniya mein (something is going to happen in the world of OTT).
