The movie directed by Srijit Mukherji released in theatres today on July 15 and the here's how Twitter reacted to the movie.
Shabaash Mithu Reviews
The audience seemed unimpressed by the movie as the Twitter users called it a good story told averagely. One Twitter user wrote, "Somewhere within #ShabaashMithu there's the promise of an intimate human drama, which gets drowned out in another loud, heavy handed sports biopic.". Another wrote, "#ShabaashMithu is a DECENT average FILM, neither good nor bad, good strong 1st half, but weak 2nd half….. Ending was emotional, #TapseePannu as #MithaliRaj was ordinary nothing as mind blowing or excellent…. Should have been a Direct OTT release… #ShabaashMithuReview"
A Twitter user points out the unnecessary gray shade given to some of the characters in the film and wrote, "Bollywood biopic makers should realise that for someone to be ‘Good’, the others don’t necessarily need to be ‘Evil’. In 'Shabaash Mithu', such an approach contradicts the movie’s aim – inspiring young Indian girls to become cricketers." A user lauded Taapsee Pannu's performance in the movie and wrote, "Another outstanding performance by #TaapseePannu in the #ShabaashMithu, the biopic of former Indian women's cricket team Mithali Raj"
Overall, the movie received mixed reaction from the viewers. While some praised Taapsee Pannu's performance and the idea of the story, other pointed out how the movie began beautifully but lost its flow in the second half. However, it had a good climax and kept the audience entertained. It is available to watch in theatres and is surely worth watching the making of cricket champion Mithali Raj.
