With Shabaash Mithu release date inching closer by the day, actor Tapsee Pannu and the team have been in full swing with the promotions. The actor along with Srijit Mukherji and Mithali Raj was seen visiting Eden Gardens in Kolkata during the promotions.
Mithali Raj is a former Indian women's team cricketer who rewrote history in her own capacity. She was recently in the news for choosing to retire from cricket after a glorious 23-year-long career and efforts to have made a place for women in this male-dominated cricket field. She shared the news of her retirement on Instagram on June 8, 2022.
Shabaash Mithu Release Date: When Can We Watch?
The biopic 'Shabaash Mithu' follows the life of Mithali Raj from the beginning of her cricket journey to becoming a significant personality in the game of cricket. On visiting Eden Gardens, Tapsee Pannu said, "It feels surreal kicking off our city trail from here. I have watched many matches here but never imagined that I would be standing here for a movie. It's a different feeling, knowing and understanding the history and the importance of this space to the sport".
Eden Gardens plays a huge role in the cricket journey of Mithali Raj, being one of the biggest cricket stadiums. Mithali Raj spoke about Eden Gardens,"Eden Gardens is one of the warmest homes of cricket and it is my absolute pleasure to be here! Playing here has been an honour and it feels humbling being here today for 'Shabaash Mithu'. Mukherji added: "I feel it's only apt to start this innings from my home ground. It's heartwarming and an honour."
Director Srijit Mukherji and Tapsee have been receiving a positive response, that the director has ‘hit it out of the park‘ and “Here’s why #taapseepannu is India’s number one actress,” and “We got a New Captain,” ever since the trailer released. 'Shabaash Mithu' is slated to release on July 15, 2022. This movie is helmed by Srijit Mukerji and produced by Viacom18 Studios and Ajit Andhare and written by Priya Aven.
