Sex/Life episode 3: The hype created by the romance drama 365 Days last year, has been beaten by the new Netflix’s latest series Sex/Life taking over the social media lately. Especially after episode three of the show aired the popularity peaked owing to the raunchy scenes.
The romance-drama series recreated from BB Easton’s 2016 novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men follows Billie Connelly (Sarah Shahi), a school psychologist and mother of two. Bored of her sex life she begins to write her deep and dark sexual fantasies about her former lovers in her journal.
The success of the journal-styled novel led to the spin-off series with each novel focusing on one of Easton’s ex-boyfriends. And that increases the possibility of a spin-off series too.
The US drama that premiered on the streaming service on June 25 stars Sarah Shahi, Mike Vogel and Adam Demos.
What made fans go wild over Sex/Life?
Although the premise of the sexually explicit drama was enough to lure in the Netflix users, the Sex/Life episode 3 has made the show shoot its way to the top spot. Billie comes across her ex-boyfriend Brad Simon played by Adam Demos. In the third episode, he is seen standing in the shower at the gym; the camera pans to an explicit full-frontal shower shot.
Evidently, the google search was dominated by the searches about the scene and how ‘true’ it was.
The creator of the series Stacy Rukeyser clarified (partially) the doubt of the viewers and confirmed that it was Demos in the show and not a body double.
"People usually ask is it real or is it a prosthetic? And I can tell you what Adam Demos says about it which is, a gentleman never tells. So, we are leaving that up to the viewer's imagination," she said in an interview with Collider.
Although Rukeyser didn’t confirm the use of prosthetics, Newsweek reported that a member of the prosthetics team confirmed that the scene featured a prosthesis.
Meanwhile, the shower scene has become the most talked-about moment of the series on social media.
