Selena Gomez: Actor and singer Selena Gomez hinted that she may retire from her musical career as people don’t take her seriously.
Gomez has been balancing her acting and singing career but has suggested in an interview that she no longer gets satisfaction from pop stardom.
Gomez told Vogue Magazine that “It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously. I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?’”
Gomez also added that she was disappointed by the response to the 2019 track “Lose You to Love Me” from ‘some people’. She added that “I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I’m so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different. I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music.”
Selena Gomez had released her first solo album “Stars Dance” in 2013. She also released the album “Revival” in 2015 and her most recent album is the 2020 “Rare” album. Songs by Gomez such as “The Heart Wants What It Wants”, “Hands to Myself”, “Good for You”, and “Same Old Love” scored in the top-ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Gomez clarified that she wanted to spend more of her time focusing on producing and acting. She recently signed on the play Silvia Vasquez-Lavado, the world’s first gay woman to climb all of the Seven Summits in a film biopic.
