Satish Kaushik Asked Neena Gupta To Marry Him When She Was Pregnant With Masaba

Satish Kaushik proposed Neena Gupta: In Neena Gupta's memoir Sach Kahun Toh which is a tell-all-tale of her life, she revealed that her friend and filmmaker Satish Kaushik offered to marry her when she was pregnant with Masaba Gupta.

Kaushik, remembered by many for his role as Calendar in the movie Mr India, is a producer, director and actor and also a friend of Gupta.

According to the mentioned autobiography, which chronicles the highs and lows of her life, Kaushik proposed to Gupta after she took the decision of raising her daughter as a single mother, whose biological father is former West Indian cricketer Vivian Richards. The offer was made by Kaushik after insensitive media and public intrusion on Gupta's pregnancy.

Gupta claimed that Kaushik told her that if the child born is of dark skin, they can pass it off as the child of Kaushik and Gupta to hide the fact that Richards was the biological father.

"Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing," Gupta quoted Kaushik.

The autobiography which took a time span of over 20 years to reach completion, was published on June 14. It deals with big milestones in her life, her unconventional pregnancy and single parenthood, and successful second innings in Bollywood.

During an Instagram live chat with the Heroine actor Kareena Kapoor, Gupta confessed wondering whether anyone would be interested in knowing about her life at all and had second thoughts.

During the said conversation, Gupta also talked about why and how she was so forthright about everything she talked about in her autobiography. Taking to her Instagram handle, she also said that besides a few 'small affairs', she didn't really have a companion after moving to Mumbai.
