Actor Sameer Khakhar Dies At 71 Due To Multiple Organ Failure, Netizens Pay Tribute

Actor Sameer Khakhar of Nukkad fame passed away from multiple organ failure, his family reported on Wednesday. The veteran actor was 71.

Veteran actor Sameer Khakhar passed away at the age of 71, according to his brother Ganesh Khakhar. In the early hours of Wednesday, he passed away at a hospital from multiple organ failure. On Tuesday morning, Khakhar was admitted to the MM Hospital in the Mumbai suburb of Borivali after experiencing some respiratory problems.

Ganesh Khakhar, Sameer Khakhar's cousin, stated in an interview that the veteran actor was having breathing problems and later fell asleep and lost consciousness. He added that he had issues with his urinary system and his heart and was being kept on a ventilator. Sadly, he passed away at 4:30 in the morning.

According to reports, his funeral will take place on Wednesday morning at Babhai Naka Crematorium in Borivali.

His fans could be seen grieving for him soon after the news of his passing spread.  Many remembered their good memories of him. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta paid tribute to Sameer by sharing photos of him on Twitter. He wrote,  "For some reason, I was given the nickname Khopdi in college after his well-known character in Nukkad. I still go by the name Khopdi with my closest friends from that era. However, I think it's time to bid the OG farewell. Thank you, Sameer Khakhar. I'm grateful for the memories."

The actor, who was seen in Salman Khan's film Jai Ho, has done both films and television. He was seen in programs like Adaalat, Nukkad, Manorajan, Circus, Naya Nukkad, and Shrimaan Shrimati. His most recent small-screen appearance was in Sanjivani alongside Surbhi Chandna and Namit Khanna. He appeared in a number of movies, including Pushpak, Parinda, Shahenshah, Patel ko Punjabi Shaadi, and Hasee to Phasee. He was also well known in Gujarati theater. Recently, the actor also appeared in the Prime Video series Farzi, Zee5's Sunflower and Sudhir Mishra's Serious Men.
