Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has proven to be a highly inspiring person by rising back from the ashes every time. From being a middle-class Chennai girl to becoming an acclaimed national star, Prabhu has come a long way in her acting career. Be it playing a lovable Jessie from Ye Maaya Chesave, an old woman in Oh Baby, a fierce Raji in Family Man 2, and now a spy in the upcoming Indian installment of the Russo Brothers’ Citadel, Prabhu has proven her versatility with every role she plays.
The birthday girl, who turns 36 years old on Friday, April 28, recently partnered with a famous beverage brand. She makes a statement about a few issues that women continue to face even in today’s society. She talks about women being able to marry at their own will, returning from work at late hours, and doing action scenes because she is the hero of the film. The ad ends with Prabhu saying, "Sab ki sunoge to khud ki kab karoge (If you always listen to others, when will you do what you like?) Sharing the ad on her Instagram handle, she wrote, "Duniya kheechegi neeche, but you've got to rise up, baby! ("The world will bring you down, but you've got to rise up, baby.")
The Citadel actor is also known for regularly interacting with her fans on social media. But does social media ever spare a successful woman from being trolled? She has been trolled for many reasons, including her divorce from actor Naga Chaitanya and her struggles with the autoimmune disease myositis. The good news is that our birthday girl is a savage queen! She shuts off trolls with sassy and bang-on responses! On the occasion of Prabhu’s birthday, let’s take a look back at some of her applause-worthy replies to trolls.
Samantha's Savage Reply To Trolls
Career Finished
When Prabhu’s latest film, Shaakuntalam, didn’t perform as expected, a producer named Chitti Babu claimed that her "career as a star heroine was over" and accused her of using "cheap tactics" to promote her films (referring to her getting emotional during promotional events). However, the actor gave a nose-breaking reply to the production by sharing a screenshot of a Google search that read, "How do people have hair growing from their ears?" She shared the image on her Instagram stories and wrote, "#IYKYK," and fans were quick to connect the dots and find out that she was giving it back to the producer.
Lost All Her Charm And Glow
Last year, Prabhu opened up about suffering from an auto-immune disease called myositis. While she didn’t let that deter her from chasing her dreams, and a lot of people lauded her for being such a fighter, some netizens did use it to troll her. Taking a picture from the Shaakuntalam promotional event, a Twitter page commented that she had "lost all her charm and glow." Not letting the negativity get to her, the actor retweeted the post and wrote, "I pray you never have to go through months of treatment and medication like I did... And here’s some love from me to add to your glow."
Women Rising
A netizen posted a picture of Rohini Theatre's walls being adorned by posters of female-centric films and wrote how happy it was to see Tamil cinema coming a long way. Prabhu retweeted the image and captioned it, "Women Rising." Soon after, a user replied, saying, "Yes, just to fall." The savage queen hit back at the demeaning troll by writing, "Getting back up makes it all the more sweeter my friend."
Die With Dogs
Last year, when Prabhu shared a picture of herself and her pet dog Saasha on Instagram captured during a workout session, a troll wrote, "She will end up dying alone with cats and dogs" (The comment was later deleted). Being someone who is never afraid to speak her mind, Prabhu responded, "I would consider myself lucky."
False Accusations
After announcing her divorce from actor Naga Chaitanya, Prabhu was subjected to several personal insults and accused of infidelity, abortions, and taking hefty alimony. She stood strong through all that, and when one troll wrote, Samantha is a divorced second-hand item who has 50 crores of tax-free money robbed from a gentleman!" Choosing to gracefully respond to this insensitive comment, Prabhu wrote, "Kamarali Dukandar, God bless your soul."
