South Indian film industry actor Samantha Akkineni releases Chali Chali, the first song from Kangana Ranaut-starrer Thalaivi, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. Sharing the full video song Friday on Twitter, Akkineni wrote, "Amma's unmatched grace and her stunning screen presence is known to all. Witness her fanfare from Cinema to CM."
The Thalaivi song is titled Chali Chali, Mazhai Mazhai and IlaaIlaa in each language respectively. A teaser for the song had earlier been shared by the team, announcing its full release on April 2.

"I am absolutely in love with everything this team is releasing," Akkineni added. She is not part of the project, but has showered praises on Ranaut previously for her role as Jayalalithaa. "You are the bravest, most daring and indisputably the most talented actress of our generation," she had remarked after seeing the film's trailer.
Akkineni is best known for films like Super Deluxe, Majili, and Ye Maaya Chesave.
Thanking her for releasing the first song from the Jayalalithaa biopic, Ranaut wrote to Akkineni, "You are epitome of woman empowerment, we need to empower each other and that’s real feminism. Thank you."

The song sees Ranaut recreate Jayalalithaa's 'golden era' in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films she dominated between the 1960s and 80s. She later rose to prominence as a member of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party, going on to serve as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for six terms. Thalaivi's release will coincide with Jayalalithaa's birth anniversary on April 23. "To Jaya Amma, on her birth anniversary. Witness the story of the legend, Thalaivi, in cinemas on 23rd April, 2021," Ranaut announced in February this year.

The film charts Jayalalithaa's journey from a young leading actor to a politician who battled turbulent periods during her political term, including the assault she was subjected to in assembly in 1989.
