Actors Who Spoke About Sajid Khan’s Participation In Bigg Boss 16

The revelation that filmmaker Sajid Khan participated in the latest season of the hit reality television series Bigg Boss led to outrage. Celebrities and netizens slammed the decision to put the filmmaker accused by multiple women of sexual harassment in the spotlight once again.

Khan was accused of sexual harassment by several female colleagues in the wake of the MeToo movement in India.

Singer Sona Mohapatra was one of many Indians to criticise the decision the participation of Sajid Khan in Bigg Boss 16. Mohapatra had previously alleged that she was harassed by music composer Anu Malik.

The singer took to social media and wrote, “This is #SajidKhan, now on a reality TV show. Then there is #AnuMalik judging a music reality show on TV, for children no less. #KailashKher? Celebrity Judge on TV. ALL called out by many many women in @IndiaMeToo.”

Mahopatra described the executives of Indian TV channels as a “depraved” and “sad” lot.

She also called out actor Farhan Akhtar and mentioned how he started an organisation titled Men Against Rape and Discrimination (MARD) for not speaking up about the same. Mahopatra ended by saying, “Charity begins at home”.

Earlier, film critic Sucharita Tyagi took to Twitter to remind people that Khan alleged exposed himself in front of women and was accused of sexual harassment by nine women. She implored people not to watch the show “just for entertainment” and to demand better.

Actors Who Spoke About Sajid Khan In Bigg Boss

Despite the barrage of criticism against Sajid Khan’s involvement in Bigg Boss, the filmmaker has received the support of several actors and ex-Bigg Boss contestants.

Shehnaaz Gill

Actor Shehnaaz Gill gained a massive fan following after appearing in Bigg Boss 13. In a video message, Gill gave a shoutout to Khan and expressed her support for him. Gill said in the video, “My support is with you, rock it brother”.

Social media did not take Gill’s support of Khan kindly. One user wrote, “The lowest point of today’s premiere was Shehnaaz Gill coming out in full support of #Sajid Khan. Extremely disappointing!”

Kashmera Shah

The actor and former Bigg Boss 1 contestant Kashmera Shah also voiced her support for Khan via Twitter. She wrote that she "loved the line up" and added that Khan's "candid honesty touched my heart".

Netizens called out the actors for their support of Khan and said it was "shameful" that the reality show supported Khan, despite being called out by several women.
