Rupal Patel hospitalised: Television actor Rupal Patel, best known for playing the character of Kokilaben in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, has been reportedly admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. While the reason for her hospitalisation is not revealed yet, her husband Radha Krishan Dutt said that the actor is doing "fine" now and there is no serious health issue.
Patel was taken to a hospital a few days ago after she felt unwell and is expected to be discharged soon, India Today reported. A source close to her said that she is expected to return home from the hospital in the next three or four days.
The actor is reportedly recovering well. Dutt, however, confirmed that there is nothing to worry about. Patel, who played the iconic saas Kokilaben on the show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2, was in news last year when her "Rasode mein kaun tha?" dialogue went viral on the Internet.
Aurangabad-based music composer and Youtuber, Yashraj Mukhate repackaged the dialogue into a music video. It was on August 20, 2020, when Mukhate released a rap song featuring Rupal Patel aka the iconic Kokilaben and posted on his channel starting a month long meme-fest. Read who is Rupal Patel here.
Soon after the viral video, a second season of the long-running show was launched and Patel reprised her role of Kokila Modi. However, in just a month, she quit Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2. She had told SpotboyE that she was only asked to be a part of the show for a month and it was scripted to be a "small journey". She went on to add that she has received so much love from the audience especially for this character that when makers came to her with this idea for joining and supporting them to uplift this it was her "moral responsibility as a creative artist to say a yes" for it.
