Royal Family Racism Row: After the bombshell interview given by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to Oprah Winfrey, the royal family has been facing major backlash for Markle's allegations that they raised "concerns" about her son Archie's skin colour.
Reacting to the which many people on social media called the boycott of the royal family and accused them of being racist. The outrage was joined by the Black Lives Matter movement's Co-founder Opal Tometi who reportedly called for the boycott of the institution.
Opal said even if one member of the royal family discriminated against the couple's son Archie is enough to to say the family doesn't value Black lives and that the masses should turn their back on the royals. She said that Meghan's experience in the UK shows how problematic the institution is and that the world doesn't need people who treat black people like they don't matter.
Speaking on Meghan's confession that she felt suicidal, Opal said that her experience is what Black people feel too often. "they try to go through proper channels to resolve problems but then it turns out the issue is with the institution itself". She added that people should start believing Black woman because Meghan is not the only one dealing with racism.
