'Rocket Boys' Are Back! Watch Teaser Of India's Nuclear Mission Led By Sarabhai

Season 1 of SonyLIV's biographical series on the life of scientists Vikram Sarabhai and Homi J Bhabha, the pioneers of India's nuclear program, was a massive hit among the audience. The series is back with season 2 focusing more on how India successfully tested its nuclear bombs under the leadership of Vikram Sarabhai.

Starring Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh in the role of Homi J Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai respectively, Rocket Boys brought to life the story of how these two leading Indian scientists met and how they collaborated to launch India's first-ever space rocket. Continuing the story of India's scientific achievements, season 2 is back and this time its focus is on how India accomplished its mission of carrying out nuclear testing under the nose of the CIA who was keeping a close eye on India's every move and ready to crush any advancement in becoming a strong nation.

Rocket Boys 2 Teaser Released

The ">teaser begins with a team of scientists discussing the future of India's nuclear mission and the CIA's take on it with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The series is set at the time Gandhi had assumed office, right after the unexpected death of Homi J Bhabha in 1966 in a plane crash. The series features Indian scientists' struggle to keep India's nuclear mission away from the eyes of the CIA which considered India's growing strength as a threat.

In the teaser, the audience can see scientists like APJ Abdul Kalam, Homi Sethna and Raja Ramanna working under the guidance of Vikram Sarabhai to successfully complete the nuclear bomb testings at Rajasthan's Pokhran army base in 1974 which is also known as Operation Smiling Buddha. Season 2 will star Charu Shankar in the role of Indira Gandhi and Arjun Radhakrishnan as APJ Abdul Kalam along with Regina Cassandra, Saba Azad, Namit Das, Rajat Kapur and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in important roles.

The series is expected to release on SonyLIV in March 2023.
