Actor Rimi Sen, who made her acting debut in 2000, is gearing up to return to the silver screen after a hiatus. The Dhoom actor, in an interview with Hindustan Times, expressed her eagerness to “explore possibilities and create content”.
Rimi Sen, who has been part of quite a few well-known Bollywood films, declared that she wasn't content with her work back in the days.
“I was disappointed as I didn’t get good opportunities, so I quit acting”, she told the publication.
The Bollywood actor has featured in comedy films such as Garam Masala, Phir Hera Pheri, and Golmaal: Fun Unlimited.
Further in the interview, she addressed the subject of women being treated as “eye-candy” in our films.
“Even today, movies are male-dominated but during my time, films were made for men and women were furniture in them. If women-oriented films were made, they didn’t work,” Rimi said.
“Now, women have much more to do on OTT and stories are character-driven, so age doesn’t matter. Earlier, heroines had a short shelf life,” she added.
