Actor Rhea Chakraborty recently opened up about the profound impact on her life following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and her deep sense of loss. During an interview with India Today, the actor also delved into the topic of whether she has found closure three years after Rajput's demise. She also shared her experiences with how people sometimes respond to her with sympathetic gazes.
During her conversation with India Today, Chakraborty stated that as she enters a room, she can discern the expressions on people's faces. She added how some individuals cast pitying glances at her as if questioning how she manages to carry on saying, “pitiful eyes ki kaise zinda hai”, while others express their support and encouragement for her journey.
On Finding Closure
When she engages in discussions with people, she can sense their unspoken thoughts. At times, they observe her and think that “she doesn’t seem like a criminal”. She perceives these thoughts simultaneously. However, she remains unfazed by such perceptions and opinions, saying, "Does it matter to me? Absolutely not."
Talking about getting closure, Chakraborty added that she doesn't think closure is the right word and according to her, one can’t get closure from something like this. She said that the thing is " I faced a personal loss."
The experience initially consumes one's life, and over time, life begins to develop around it. However, it remains a constant presence. It lingers in the background, reminding her that it's still there, never truly gone. She added, "But has it changed my perspective, yes."
When questioned about whether she provided drugs to Rajput, the actor refuted the allegation. She expressed her desire to move on from discussing the subject of drugs, the NCB, and the CBI investigation. Instead, she emphasised the importance of focusing on her mental health and how she coped with the aftermath of Rajput’s demise.
Rhea Chakraborty faced charges under Section 27-A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, which deals with "financing and harbouring illegal drug trafficking." The Bombay High Court granted her bail in the cases related to a drug investigation linked to Sushant Singh Rajput.
