Social media provides the freedom of speech. While some people misuse it, others use it as a weapon to be vocal about social issues. It is the latter group that serves the purpose of digitisation of the world. Social media's huge reach combined with freedom of speech leverages people's confidence to speak up. One such influencer is RJ Karishma who speaks up about various social scenarios, albeit in a quirky and sarcastic way.
Direct comment or criticism of social issues is also commendable. However, portraying social issues with a tinge of humour makes the content engaging and attracts more audiences. While RJ Karishma has spoken about many social scenarios, let us focus on her take on various relationships in our society.

Unmarried couple relationships
Recently, RJ Karishma posted a reel talking about the patch-ups in relationships. She shows how another fight follows every patch-up. In the reel, a woman is seen fighting with her boyfriend about who initiated the patch-up, who was more affected by the fight and who is the one who always says sorry.
After watching the reel, one can easily conclude that ego clashes often affect relationships. Fights and arguments are normal in every relationship. However, the ability to mend the damage keeps the relationships intact. Who says sorry first or displays their broken heart ardently doesn't matter. All that matters is that a couple loves each other and wants to stay together.

Sibling relationships
RJ Karishma's characters, Chikki and Vicky are examples of how siblings must be supportive of each other. Moreover, Karishma also makes reels about elder sister and younger sister relationships which are no less than an inspiration.
RJ Karishma, for example, started a series in which Chikki was helping Vicky find a girlfriend. From initiating the talk, and giving tips to dress up for the first date to praying that the first date goes well, Chikki does everything to help and support her brother. This breaks the stigma that siblings cannot be on the same plane due to age differences or the parental pressure of conforming to social norms.
In another reel, she shows the relationship between "DI and She". In the reel, the younger sister is seen asking for money from the elder sister, talking about her boyfriend and more. The relationship between sisters is precious. Not just because they are genetically related but also because they are women with similar struggles and expectations in life. Sisters might fight with each other, like every other sibling pair does, but when it comes to serious decisions, they support each other like no one else.

Friendship
RJ Karishma often makes reels on friendship. One of her reels was about long-distance friends. In the reel, she is seen talking to her friend who lives in another city. Despite the distance, the bond between her and her friend remains the same. Karishma is seen sharing every detail of things happening to her with her long-distance friend. There is no weirdness due to long-distance. The bond is still as comfortable as it was before.
From the reel, it can easily be concluded that people change but friendships don’t. As we grow up, we make different choices that might affect our closest friendships. But an adult friendship understands the necessity of distance and hence doesn’t break ties. In an adult friendship, when you call your long-distance friend after weeks or months, you will feel the same comfort of sharing ice creams outside the school.

Parents' relationship
RJ Karishma perfectly captures the love-hate nuance between parents. But one common factor is the dependence of husbands on their wives. Most parents or married couples expect that the wives must take care of all the needs of the husbands. While husbands don’t want to take any responsibility other than earning money. RJ Karishma rightly depicts these dynamics in her reels of Chikki’s parents.
Usually, new-generation couples do not share such lopsided relationships. But our parents belong to older times and hence follow the older dynamics.
So Sushma Ji rightly says, “Main tang aa gyi hoon.”

The mushy couple after engagement
RJ Karishma perfectly encapsulates the mushy conversations a newly engaged couple has! From late-night phone calls, calling love names to one another, discussing wedding prep, and taking time to feel comfortable and so much, her humourous reels are so on-point.
The Indianness of the reels by RJ Karishma is the strongest factor for high engagement and traction. People can relate and hence think differently.
