In a shocking video that surfaced online earlier this week, Raveena Tandon was seen being confronted by a group of women on the night of June 1. The women alleged that Raveena and her driver had assaulted three women, including an elderly lady. In the video, Raveena can be seen asking people to calm down and can be heard saying, "Don't hit me." The incident video shows Raveena struggling as people push her, trying to get to her driver.

However, the CCTV footage from around Raveena and her husband Anil Thadani’s home in Bandra, near Rizvi Engineering College, obtained by News18 Showsha sheds more light on the incident. The video, captured around 9 pm on June 1, shows a group of women gathering outside the couple’s residence.

According to a source quoted by News18, the situation has been misrepresented. "The way this episode has been portrayed is wrong. CCTV footage from the area shows that a group of women came to Raveena Tandon’s home in the evening and started shouting at and fighting with her driver. Raveena joined them only to protect her driver,” the source explained.

The source further questioned the allegations, saying, "If the driver had injured them first, why didn’t they go to the police station and file an FIR? Contrary to rumours, Raveena wasn’t drunk, and the claims that the driver attacked these women are false and fabricated."

5 Things To Know

1. On June 2, the Mumbai Police clarified that a false complaint had been filed against Raveena Tandon with the Khar Police. The complaint accused her of being drunk, rash driving, and assault. Raveena shared a screenshot from 'Viral Bhayani' on 'X' (formerly Twitter), stating that after reviewing the CCTV footage, it was clear that Raveena’s car did not hit anyone and she was not intoxicated.

2. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajtilak Roshan of Zone 9 confirmed that the complaint was false. Speaking to a Mumbai-based daily, DCP Roshan explained, "The complainant made a false complaint in the alleged video. We checked the entire CCTV footage of the society and found that the actor's driver was reversing the car from the road into the society when this family was crossing the same lane. The family stopped the car and told the driver that he should check if people were behind the car before reversing, and an argument started between them."

3. As the argument escalated, Raveena arrived at the scene to check on her driver and protect him from the crowd. Both Raveena and the involved family went to the Khar police station to file complaints but eventually withdrew them.

4. Later, they both also submitted letters stating they did not want to register any complaints," DCP Roshan explained. DCP Roshan further stated, "Nobody was injured in this incident. We checked the CCTV footage, and the car did not hit anyone. The actress was not drunk."

5. In another screenshot shared by Raveena in the same post, the Mumbai Police confirmed that both parties denied making any complaints. "Tandon's driver was trying to reverse the car to park it, and three people from a family felt that they would get hit. After the argument, both parties left, and later, police reached the spot and questioned Tandon's staff. The other party was also called to the police station. Both parties denied making any complaints," the Mumbai Police stated.

Meanwhile, Raveena Tandon recently captivated audiences with her powerful performance in the Disney Hotstar courtroom drama Patna Shuklla, where she starred alongside the late Satish Kaushik and Manav Vij. Looking ahead, Tandon will be featured in Welcome 3, a film boasting a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, and Paresh Rawal.
