Raveena Mehta Is The First Indian Singer To Perform At Cannes Film Festival

The 75^th Edition of the Cannes Film Festival was a special affair for India as the country was chosen as the first 'Country of Honour' at Marche du Cinema this year. The Indian delegation at the film festival hit the headlines this year for multiple reasons including actor Deepika Padukone attending the festival as a jury member.

The Red Carpet also witnessed many firsts as Assamese actor-filmmaker Aimee Baruah, folk singer Mame Khan attended the recently concluded festival for the first time.

Adding to the list of those firsts is indie musician Raveena Mehta. The singer-songwriter, who had represented and showcased India’s culture at the global event thrice previously, was invited to perform for Tiffany’s Fashion Week in Hermitage Hotel, Monaco for the first time!

Raveena Mehta Performs At Cannes

Mehta, who also attended the premiere of Boy From Heaven, sang classic songs by iconic artists like Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and others at the gala. She was thrilled to witness the appreciation for Indian culture and music.

Her performance this year was more special as she performed her upcoming song Tujhse Milne Ki Aas at the do. The song’s teaser was also unveiled at the event; it is a promotional song for Mini Film’s new Ruskin Bon anthology Falling In Love Again. This song was entirely shot in Cannes during the 75th Cannes Film Festival!

Raveena Mehta Dazzles On Red Carpet

This year, Raveena honoured the Diamond Jubilee of the coveted film festival as she was seen sporting a Black Diamanté Chain Dress custom made by DimpleAmrin.

The designer Dimple Mehta was quoted in a news report saying that the dress was created to honour the Diamond jubilee of the film festival. She said, “the custom gown for Raveena Mehta was created with the intent of celebrating 75 years of Cannes Film Festival. Completing 75 years is marked as a Diamond Jubilee Celebration and the first-ever diamond was found in India. So, it was only fitting to share love from India with Singer Raveena Mehta adorned in diamantés and Diamond jewellery. This being the key inspiration behind this year’s custom gown, which is bedazzled in platinum diamanté chains.”
