Our Baby... Coming Soon: Is Alia Bhatt Pregnant?

Actor Alia Bhatt surprised her fans on June 27 morning by sharing an Instagram post which indicates that she might be expecting her first child. The actor had tied the knot with long-time partner Ranbir Kapoor on April 14 this year.

The Instagram post shared by Bhatt features two images. In one, Bhatt can be seen lying on a hospital bed, undergoing sonography. The sonography of the baby is hidden by a heart emoji. The second picture is that of a lioness and lion with a cub. Bhatt has shared the images with the caption, "Our baby ….. coming soon."

The post has been showered with love by many of Bhatt's close friends and family members. "Heart is bursting," wrote filmmaker Karan Johar in the comments section of the post. Johar had launched Bhatt's career with the film Student Of The Year in 2012.

Bhatt's mother and veteran actor Soni Razdan too congratulated the parents-to-be, writing, "Congratulations Mama and Papa lion." She shared Bhatt's post in her stories with the caption, "Our cup runneth over. On the other hand, Kapoor's sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni left a heart emoticon in the comments section. She also shared a picture of the couple on her Instagram Story and wrote, "My babies are having a baby. I love you both so much."

Actor, producer and entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra, who recently welcomes her daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas with husband Nick Jonas, too congratulated Bhatt and Kapoor. "Congratulations honey!! Yaaaay! Can’t wait," she commented on Bhatt's post.

Alia Bhatt has had a n eventful year and it is just halfway through. The actor's film Gangubai Kathiawadi, based on the life of a real mafia queen and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, minted over 100 crore rupees at the box office. She was also seen in SS Rajamouli's period action film RRR, in a small but significant role. Then in the month of April, she tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor in an intimate ceremony held at the couple's home in Mumbai. The duo will soon be seen in director Ayan Mukerji's fantasy film Brahmastra, which also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in important roles.

Apart from Brahmastra, Alia Bhatt will also be seen in Darlings, which also marks her debut as a producer. The film also features Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in key roles. The actor is also working alongside Ranveer Singh in Karan Johar's upcoming directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani which is scheduled for a 2023 release.
