Ranbir Kapoor who is soon to be seen in his upcoming dark actioner film Animal has been constantly called out as "toxic" after getting caught up in many controversies recently. However, the star has been addressing those comments well, during the film's promotional event he also expressed his apprehensions about his role in the upcoming film Animal. 

Ranbir Kapoor shared in an interview why he had doubts about his role as Arjun Singh and revealed how his wife Alia Bhatt helped him a lot during the shooting of the film as he was "scared" as an actor for the role expressing gratitude for his wife to be a "strong support when this film is concerned" and guiding him as a "barometer" to play the complexities of his character better.

Why Ranbir Kapoor Was Apprehensive For His Character In 'Animal'?

Ranbir Kapoor who is soon to be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in his upcoming dark actioner Animal discussed some of the challenges he faced during the making of the film and portraying the intense character of Arjun Singh. 

Kapoor admitted having moments of doubt as an actor pushing the envelope for his character's dialogues and actions sometimes. He revealed his apprehension about playing the role as he said "I was scared as an actor that 'Is it sounding too wrong?'"

Kapoor also added that he has never pushed boundaries so much as a character and shared how he always tried to portray goodness on screen but what his wife said during the making of the film for his concerns.

Ranbir Kapoor Reveals How His Wife Alia Bhatt Helped Him During The Shooting of Animal:

Kapoor expressed how he respects Alia Bhatt as an artiste and how she thinks and her mind works as he revealed them having a lot of talks about each other's works and shared Bhatt has helped her with many scenes during the shooting of the film especially during the scenes when he was scared as an actor as he recalled discussing scenes every day before going for the shoot. 

Kapoor while expressing his gratitude to his wife for helping him navigate the complexities of his dark role in the film shared how Bhatt acted as a "barometer" guiding him to play a character and pushing its boundaries as he recalled Bhatt saying to him "‘Listen it is fine. It’s a character and it makes sense. There is an idea and thought behind it."

About Animal:

The film Animal is a Hindi-language criminal thriller all set to hit the theatres on December 1 and has been in high buzz since the release of its trailer as the story delves into a tumultuous relationship between a father and a son after which the son turns into an 'animal' acting on impulses to protect his family as he embarks on a dark vengeance trail. 

The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who is known for Kabir Singh and also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles.
