Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married today on 14 April. The actor shared the photographs from their wedding on Instagram today in the evening.
In the caption of the photos, the pair wrote a joint message for their followers and friends. The caption was as follows: "Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot - the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship - we got married. With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites. The duo are dressed in an off-white creme designer ensemble. Bhatt is dressed in an embroidered sari with a hefty necklace and a maangtika on her headpiece. She has worn minimal make-up but is seen in the photo with a large smile on her face. Kapoor is dressed in a sherwani of the same hue. The actor uploaded images, one of which shows the couple kissing and the other of which shows Kapoor kissing Bhatt on her forehead.
Soon after, the couple made their first public appearance as husband and wife, for the photographers awaiting their arrival outside their home.

The pair held their pre-wedding ceremony on Wednesday. Vastu, Kapoor's Pali Hill home, held the mehendi and haldi ceremonies. Several celebrities attended the rites, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Karan Johar, among others. On this important day, Mahesh Bhatt, the actor's father, used Mehndi to write the name of his son-in-law Ranbir on his palm.
