Obtained by Zoom, the images depict Lara Dutta and Arun Govil in their respective roles. Arun, renowned for his portrayal of Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar’s classic television series Ramayan, is set to portray King Dashrath in the Ranbir-starrer Ramayana. Meanwhile, Lara will be portraying the character of Kaikeyi.

In the leaked images, Arun can be seen engaging with young actors, possibly portraying young Ram and his brothers, on the sets. He is adorned with a long beard and dons a regal crown, embodying the character of King Dashrath. Lara, on the other hand, is seen clad in a traditional saree and adorned with elaborate gold jewellery. She is accompanied by Sheeba Chaddha, who also plays a significant role in the film.

Nitesh Tiwari, known for his directorial ventures like Dangal and Chhichhore, has proven his ability to handle compelling narratives with a blend of emotion, action, and depth. With his immense talent and creative vision, Tiwari is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the legendary tale.

For the plot, Ramayana is a timeless story that follows the journey of Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and his righteous quest to rescue his wife, Sita, from the clutches of the demon king Ravana. It is a tale of love, devotion, honour, and the triumph of good over evil.

The film is expected to boast a star-studded cast, and there is much speculation surrounding the actors who will portray the iconic characters from Ramayana. Fans and audiences eagerly await the official announcements regarding the Ramayana cast.

Ramayana Cast

Speculation initially suggested that Deepika Padukone was associated with the project, but later reports indicated that Sai Pallavi had been cast as Sita. However, recent developments have revealed that Alia Bhatt is now highly likely to portray the character. Her husband Ranbir Kapoor is expected to play the role of Ram.

According to Indian Express, reliable sources said the casting process for the character of Raavan in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan has been particularly challenging for the makers. Not many stars are willing to take on the role due to the perceived risks associated with it in the current industry climate.

Initially, actor Hrithik Roshan was considered for the part and expressed interest in being a part of the project. However, when the negotiations with Roshan didn't materialise, the project was put on hold once again.

Currently, discussions are underway with KGF star Yash for the role of Raavan. Yash, who is yet to announce his next project after the blockbuster success of KGF: Chapter 2, has been approached by the filmmakers. Reports suggest that he has shown interest and has been engaged in advanced talks. However, it remains uncertain whether he will ultimately take up the role, as there are rumours indicating that he might decline the opportunity.
