The slice-of-life drama Chhatriwali, starring actors Rakul Preet Singh and Sumeet Vyas, will be released early in 2023 exclusively digitally, the streaming service announced on Thursday.
The upcoming drama Chhatriwali, starring Rakul Preet Singh, is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar. The purpose of the film is to provide a powerful societal message about the significance of male contraception and safe sex.
Singh plays the quality control manager at a condom plant in this Haryana-based movie. Though she is at first shy and ashamed of her profession, the movie's tagline states that "she quickly realises the necessity of safe sex and then takes it upon herself to destigmatise the conversation around sex education."
Today, on the occasion of World Aids Day, the film's makers announced its digital distribution. The actor claimed that Chhatriwali is unique since it is a fun movie with an important societal message.
In a statement, Rakul Preet Singh stated, "This World Aids Day, I join the fight against HIV by promoting the use of male contraceptives and safe sex in my next film, Chhatriwali."

According to the announcement, the film is set to release on Zee 5. With a mix of social message, strong female character, humour, nuance, and lots of drama, Chhatriwali is sure to entertain and educate our audience."
