The upcoming film Raksha Bandhan trailer was released a day after the film’s new poster was unveiled. The Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer is a family comedy-drama.
Starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the leading roles, the comedy-drama Raksha Bandhan centres around love and the bond between brothers and sisters. Actors Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth also star and play the role of Kumar’s sisters.
Raksha Bandhan is directed by Aanand L Rai and is produced by Zee Studios, Colour Yellow Productions, and Cape of Good Films. Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon serve as writers that co-wrote the script.
The film Raksha Bandhan was officially announced on August 3, 2020, to mark the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, an annual ceremony that celebrates the bond between a brother and a sister.
Akshay Kumar unveiled the film’s poster on his social media and announced that the trailer for Raksha Bandhan would be released on June 21. Kumar described the upcoming family comedy-drama film as “a story of love, joy, family and the unbreakable bond that binds them”.
Director Aanand L Rai had previously collaborated with Kumar on their 2021 film Atrangi Re, which starred Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush. The lead actors Kumar and Pednekar had previously worked together on the 2017 film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.

Announcing the trailer launch, Akshay Kumar wrote, "Togetherness is knowing each other’s secrets, joys, happiness and hearts. Togetherness is life. And what’s life without a family. Come join this beautiful family. We are waiting for you." He also shared a poster of the film.
Raksha Bandhan Trailer
The ">trailer for Raksha Bandhan premiered on June 21. The trailer has a quirky edge which begins with Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar arguing over their marriage and Kumar's promise to his deceased mother to marry his sisters off before himself. However, the four sisters are eccentric.
Kumar struggles to get them married while he's being pressured by Bhumi Pendnekar's father to marry her. The entire fiasco results in a comedic trailer which is two-minute-long.
Raksha Bandhan Release
Raksha Bandhan is set to release on August 11, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The film will be clashing with Laal Singh Chaddha in the box office.
