Rajat Kapoor's 'RK/RKay' Intrigues Viewers With Quirky Plot; See Reactions To Trailer

RK/RKay trailer leaves fans stunned with its intriguing plotline. The upcoming comedy-drama film is about a missing person, but the missing person is a character from a film being shot.

The film stars screenwriter, director, and actor Rajat Kapoor in a double role as an actor and director named RK, and Mahboob, the character played by RK.

After getting an urgent call from an editor, RK realises that the character of Mahboob is missing from the film negatives. He realises that Mahboob somehow managed to escape the film and enter the real world while he was running from a killer in the film.

The film contains another film within it and provides a behind-the-camera look into how movies are created, with added comedy and drama for entertainment purposes.

Rajat Kapoor is joined by actors Mallika Sherawat and Ranvir Shorey, both of whom also have double roles. They are also joined by Kubbra Sait, Manu Rishi Chadha, and Chandrachoor Rai.

Along with his double role, Kapoor also serves as the writer and director for RK/RKay. The film was produced by Priyanshi Films.

Since the film within RK/RKay starring Mahboob as the central character seems to be set in the past, the audience can enjoy the different settings and costumes as the setting switches between the past and present.

RK/RKay Trailer Reactions

After viewing the RK/RKay ">trailer, film critics and Twitter users described the upcoming comedy-drama film as a “quirky story”.

A Twitter user said that Rajat Kapoor is a genius and added that the film looks “unmissable”.

Film critic at India Today,  Shweta Keshri said that the film was a “bizarre tale” that viewers would be left “puzzled” by the film.

Another user said that the RK/RKay trailer left viewers intrigued and fans were glad to see actor Mallika Sherawat back on the screen.

RK/RKay Release Date

The film is set for theatrical release in India on July 22, 2022. The film was released in the United States on May 14, 2021.

The film has also been screened at several international festivals such as Shanghai International Film Festival, Pune International Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, River To River Festival in Florence, and Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
