Raj Kundra Deletes Instagram and Twitter: Following the adult film racket controversy, the businessman husband of actor Shilpa Shetty has permanently deleted his social media accounts on platforms Instagram and Twitter.
Kundra had a sizeable following on both his social media accounts however, both now stand permanently deleted. Sometime back actor Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj slapped a defamation case of Rs 50 Crores against model Sherlyn Chopra. Between July 19 and September 20 Kundra was in custody. Chopra had during that time alleged sexual misconduct and accused the couple of sexual and mental harassment. She reportedly filed a First Information Report (FIR) as well.
The Mumbai court granted Kundra bail in the pornography case on a surety of Rs 50,000. Kundra was on radio silence on his social media handles since his arrest and subsequent release. Since his release, he hasn't made any public appearances either.
The case
Kundra and his associate Ryan Thorpe’s names emerged in connection to UK-based firm Kenrin. It is reportedly the business setup behind Hotshots, the app that was being used to publish pornographic content. Kundra revealed his association with Kenrin ended years ago. However, investigating officers suspected the businessman was involved in operations from his Mumbai office of Viaan Industries.
As per reports, Kundra along with others was behind the content which earned as much as five lakh rupees from each video platformed on Hotshots. Owing to certain financial irregularities, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) reportedly started looking into the case.
In his petition filed in the court, Kundra argued that he has been wrongly arrested in the case and termed himself innocent.
