By the time Raj Kaushal met Mandira Bedi, she had already done the spotlight role in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and was an actor to watch out for. Kaushal, who worked with film and ad producers spotted Bedi at an audition she had come for. That's where the Raj Kaushal Mandira Bedi love story started. Bedi lost Kaushal at early hours of June 30, when the filmmaker died due to a sudden cardiac arrest. The couple have two children Vir and Tara.

The couple in the making started dating in the late 1990s. They would meet at filmmaker Mukul Anand's house. Kaushal was the chief assistant for Anand in those days.
"It took us three meetings before I knew that she was the one," Raj Kaushal would recall of their early relationship.
"He is a basic person, very honest. There is nothing fake about him like people who don masks to hide their true selves. With Raj, it's - what you see is what you get," Bedi says in an interview with Bollywood Shaadis.
The couple tied the knot in 1999. They have two children Vir and Tara.

Kaushal was in the ad and film business from the very beginning and that's how he met Mandira Bedi. He directed Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, Shaadi Ka Laddoo among his films. He produced Onir's My Brother Nikhil. Kaushal did a lot of work in the advertising industry.
